Sara is the Advocacy Director of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. She is also the founder and primary consultant at Sara El-Amine Consulting. Prior to consulting Sara was the executive director of Organizing for Action (OFA), where she lead a team of 138 staff, 1100 full-time volunteer leaders, and 1500 fellows based in all 50 states. Sara joined the Obama movement after a stint in international organizing and time at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. As a part of the Obama family from 2007 – 2016 Sara served in almost every role within the grassroots hierarchy, including as national organizing director, and as national training director for the 2012 re-election campaign. Sara currently lives in Chicago, where she is a proud New Leaders Council Chicago board member and a Truman National Security Project Political Partner. She speaks Spanish, Arabic, and French, and is the eldest of five children in a Lebanese-Irish American family.
